After a long wait, Vishal starrer Kaththi Sandai finally made it to the screens.
An action entertainer, the movie has been directed by Suraj.
Starring Vishal and Tamannaah in the lead, the movie is the comeback flick for ace comedian Vadivelu.
Bankrolled by Madras Enterprises, this is the first time Tamannaan has paired up with Vishal. Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu plays the villain in this flick.
The story is quite simple. It all starts with a chase. Deputy Commissioner Tamizh Selvan (Jagapathi Babu) is behind a truckload of money. The newspapers report that the sincere officer had seized the cash and handed it over to the government. Tamizh Selvan’s sister played by Tamannaah falls in love with a complete stranger Arjun (Vishal). With running around trees, smiles and blushed, the two fall in love.
The movie has several twists. Arjun has actually sketched a cunning plan to loot the money hidden inside Tamizh Selvan’s bungalow. How he does it? Who is Arjun really and what is his motive? Does he succeed forms the rest of the plot.
One of the positive aspect in the movie is comedy that is done by Soori and Vadivelu. It is also a drawback as the ace comedian, Vadivelu does not come in the entire flick. He could have been used well.
The movie actually has nothing much to offer. In the hands of Suraj is seems to have gone for a slight toss. The execution could have been a better.
The first half has equal proportions of comedy and action. It is racy too. Soori is the one who is filling the comedy gap in the first half.
Vishal is a good entertainer. He has done his part well. He excels in action, romance and is a robinhood of the poor.
One of the positive aspects in the movie is the cinematography by Richard M Nathan.
Tamannah looks bold and beautiful. Although her role is not powerful she glides through the entire flick. Jagpathi Babu as an angry police officer is nice.
